Are you looking to create dynamic characters, but unsure of where to start. Here are some ideas that may help you along the way. There is no one way to create characters, so do what works best for you.  As writers we have to draw our readers to the page. It’s the same effect as when painters do it. The imagery is right there on the page. We have to make the character relatable to those who are reading the material. Begin with creating a character profile. This is like making a social media page for your characters. By creating a profile of the character; you are becoming familiar with the person that you are creating. This will help you when you are trying to figure out how your characters react in certain situations. You will also know they interact with other characters. When using a character profile, you learn everything about your character; from what they like to eat, where they were born and who their enemies are. This will help you create different scenes to your story. Getting deep into your characters background you build a connection to them and learn what they can potentially be capable of. Some writers find pulling from people in their lives. This can be slippery if you care about making people feel insecure about themselves. Some people may feel hurt that you view them a certain way. At the end of the day it’s just a fictional project. Now it is important to let your readers know such information, as there are some people who may take your work literally.  So when creating your characters try to make them as real as possible. Make them relatable and someone that your readers can connect to. Think about how you feel about the characters that you love to watch or read about. The same gratification you get when you’re reading or watching something, bring your readers that same energy.
