I love how the author brings her emotions onto the pages; understanding the beauty writing can offer in traumatic experiences. This story is filled with authentic emotions and understanding of self. Expressing how much a father’s presence is needed in a young woman’s life and how family dynamics can alter perception of self. I would recommend this book to all young women entering womanhood, trying to understand themselves and needing to analyze their past to secure their future. Overall I give this book 5 stars, for it’s truthfulness, understanding and authenticity. It was heartfelt from the beginning.
