Waking up in the morning with my mind set on writing, is one of the most liberating thing in the world. When you find something that you’re good at and you enjoy doing it, its better to keep at it. It is important to keep up with your craft and perfect it. How often is it that you get to sit and enjoy something that you love doing, probably not as much as you would like? I feel like when looking for a career you should enjoy doing it. You should never dread going to work, but then again if you love doing something it’s not work. There’s a difference between having a job and a career. Let me explain.
I consider a career to be something that you love doing. Your passion for your talent is what drives you to get up in the morning, because you are so excited about what you do. When you are passionate about an occupation, you put your all into it and will do your best to make sure it’s done right. Also having a profession that you take pleasure in, you would do it for free and wouldn’t care about getting paid for it; because in your mind you would do it anyway. Not saying that you shouldn’t get paid for your work, but the fact of the matter is; that if you weren’t getting paid, you would still do it because of your love for it.
Now on the other hand a job is just that a job. It’s a day to day activity that you “HAVE TO DO” to get paid. I’m not saying that this is wrong I’m just putting it out there that it’s something that most people don’t like to do. I would prefer to do something I love to do, rather than drag my feet every morning knowing that today might not have a good day. To be fair having a job is definitely something needed to live in today’s society of “GIVE ME, GIVE ME, GIVE ME” but I think finding something you love would be more fulfilling than and dead end job.
So do what you love to do, not what you think you have to do; because it pays. See if you can find away to make what you love doing into a career that you would enjoy.
