Back at it again!! Hudson County Spotlight Youth Theatre has done a tremendous job incorporating the style of the 1930’s and bringing it back to life. Through their production Angie Jackson the Musical, they have been able to grasp the attention of the youth. Giving them an opportunity to show off their talents. Performing all over the tristate area this past year, they will be returning to their Broadway Home. Scheduled to premiere at The Elektra Theater in Times Square New York, On July 23,2017 this production team is making its mark.

By creating Angie Jackson Vincent E. Kee Director and writer has brought to life a wonderful story of a famous 14-year-old African American orphaned girl who comes from Harlem in 1935 and rises above the adversity of being an orphan catapulted from obscurity to worldwide prominence; as she is befriended by an assortment of some of the greatest legendary celebrities & entertainers of all time; such as poet Langston Hughes (which happened to be my favorite poets), Scientist George Washington Carver, boxing legend Joe Louis, a very young Jackie Robinson, Billie Holiday, Satchmo Louie Armstrong, Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald & Cab Callaway!!! Just to name a few.

Vincent E. Kee has written and produced this wonderful play, and transformed it into a children’s book series for all to enjoy. With the play premiering in just a few weeks, the author will be at Barnes and Noble in Livingston, NJ on the 29th for promotion of the book; which will be the start of his book tour. Be there to get a book personal signed by the author himself. Get a chance to ask questions about your favorite characters and more.

This is an event you don’t want to miss. There will be a live performance from the play of the song Mom & Dad for Me written by Vincent E. Kee., along with arts and crafts for the children to enjoy.

Hudson County Spotlight Youth Theatre has many projects in the works for this spectacular production. Connecting with other inner-city Organizations like Just Kidz Inc, Academic Excellence, and Writer’s Block Café Art Organization; they are creating new avenues for the youth to grow in the Creative world, to become Entrepreneurs.
