My mother made me do it: the ends and outs of motherhood
"I'm not going to be like my mother!" Ever said this out loud a time or two before; or at least thought it? Have you ever heard the expression "You won't understand until you have children of your own."?

Yeah that!
It's because you really don't understand; until you have children of your own. There's no manual to this parenting thing and every child is different.
You, as a parent, have to learn your child. Here's the cycle; you'll end up doing the same things your mother did! " You have to clean your room before you go anywhere." You are now repeating those same expressions you heard growing up.
Now I know every person's childhood isn't great. But it's what you make of those childhood experiences that count. If your mother wasn't a great mother, then now you know what not to do.
If you're a new mother then you know that it's not easy. Your only references are the way you were raised and other mothers around you; if you're fortunate enough to have any.
